Trails

Essex Land Trust and other Town properties are open sunrise to sunset and we encourage everyone to enjoy these open spaces. Many have trails and we only ask that a few simple rules be followed. Please do not hunt, camp, bike, make fires, smoke, use motorized vehicles, remove or destroy plants. Dogs are welcome. However, dogs must be on leash or under owner's control at all times. Be respectful of other walkers and please clean up after your pet.

Property maps have been uploaded to Maplets, an application available from your app store. Instructions on how to use the application are provided in the application. Once you have accessed a specific property map, you will be able to track your location on the map, provided your smart device has a signal.

Trail Guide

The Essex Land Trust Preserves & Trail Guide covers all Town of Essex open space properties. This 2019 downloadable version has the following features: all maps have been created from scratch using GPS to improve both the precision and quality of the maps, there is a Town of Essex Open Space map that provides an overview to all properties located in the villages of Centerbrook, Essex and Ivoryton, preserve descriptions have been revised and updated to ensure more current information, and new pictures specific to each of the preserves have been incorporated.

New Essex Land Trust members receive a free copy of the Trail Guide. Copies are available for sale for $15 each. If interested, contact us at info@essexlandtrust.org.
