Created by artist Jennifer Longworth\, in collaboration with the Essex Land Trust\, it combines plant materials found around the site. (No living plants were used). Following the Four Pebble Meditation taught by Buddhist monk and activist Thich Nhat Hanh\, the Flower represents freshness and rejuvenation. As we embrace these themes\, we affirm our own existence as a flower in the garden of humanity. \nYou may follow @essexlandtrust and @jenlongworthfineart to learn more about this project as it unfolds over the course of a year\, offering new forms for contemplation and engagement every few months. The companion Welcoming Circles just down the slope from the Flower\, offer a place to sit\, reflect\, share stories\, sing\, play\, and enjoy nature’s sensory offerings.\nOur inaugural reception will feature introductions by ELT President\, Jeff Croyle and Jen Longworth\, Artist\, Restorative Horticulturist\, and ELT Volunteer. Refreshments and conversation to follow.
