Canoe & Kayak Trails of the Lower Connecticut River Valley

Four canoe/kayak trails in the lower Connecticut River estuary are featured here. These were created and produced by the Connecticut River Estuary Regional Planning Agency around the year 2000. Each of these documents includes annotated maps, a wealth of historical information and many details about the flora and fauna of their respective areas. The individual documents that can be downloaded  and focus on Essex, Deep River, Old Saybrook and Old Lyme. When canoeing or kayaking in the estuary region, be mindful of the timing of tides and the potential for strong currents.
